The Day I Was Told To STOP Doing 1,000 crunches (To My Horror)

So one day, I started talking with a guy in the gym who was pretty ripped, and he asked what my routine looked like.

So I told him it included tons of chest exercises and 1,000 crunches – literally..
His response?

I needed to train all my other body parts, too. It would keep me in proportion and ultimately give me a more well-rounded physique.

He also said I should vary my workouts so my body never adapted and focus on compound lifts. He further stated, it would be a good idea to start any program with some isolation exercises to reinforce the “mind-muscle” connection which would help me get the most out of my compound lifts.

By this point, you should be able to accurately estimate what you’re putting into your body. But to get shredded in the first place, you need to know exactly how many calories (and what macros) you’re eating.

If you do, then do you know what’s going to happen? You’re going to torch away your body fat. In fact, you’ll be burning so much fat you’re more than likely going to want to stay clear of alcohol and crap food.

Yes, I know I said you can fit them into your macros, but I think it’s best to go ‘all-in’ for the first few weeks and eat mainly healthy foods and limit alcohol. After that, you can start introducing them back into your diet.

Anyway, if your diet’s on point and you’re lifting weights properly (which I’ll cover in a moment), it won’t be long before you have visibly defined abs. Of course, how quickly you get a six-pack depends on:
